Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
Media Inspector was built with a simple privacy principle: your files and your data are yours. This policy explains what the app and this website do — and, more importantly, what they don't do.
The app
Media Inspector for macOS:
- Works completely offline. The app has no network access of any kind. Media files you inspect are read locally and never uploaded, transmitted, or shared.
- Collects no data. There are no analytics, telemetry, tracking, crash reporters, or advertising SDKs of any kind.
- Runs sandboxed. The app operates inside the macOS App Sandbox and can only access files you explicitly open or drag into it.
- Stores only local preferences. Settings (such as which properties to display) and security-scoped bookmarks for reopening recent files are stored locally on your Mac, managed by macOS, and never leave your machine.
In short: we cannot see anything you do with Media Inspector, because nothing you do in Media Inspector ever reaches us.
This website
This website is a set of static pages served through Cloudflare. It sets no cookies of its own and includes no analytics or third-party trackers. Cloudflare, as the hosting and content-delivery provider, may log standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) for security and operational purposes; see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for details.
App Store purchases
If you obtain Media Inspector through the Mac App Store, the purchase is processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive any personal information about you. Apple's handling of that data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date. Since the app collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely.
